FREEWAY RECORDS "TAP IN" MUSIC COMPETITION

is open to songwriters, lyricists & music composers worldwide.

Our annual event is designed for amateur and semi-pro songwriters only.  Individuals who earn over $10,000 annually from song publishing royalties are not eligible.

· Entry fee of $150.00 is required for each entered song.

· Submission deadline is August 1, 2023. Online submissions must be received by this date. No mail in submission allowed.

   * All music must be original

   * All beats must be original

   * No samples will be allowed in the completion

· All entrants will be sent an entry confirmation and judging schedule when their songs are received and processed.

· Unless signed to Freeway Records, writers retain all rights to their songs, lyrics & compositions.

Grand Prize Winner Receives: $2,500 in cash, Platinum Membership to the Freeway Millionaires Club ($1,000 value), Recording contract from Freeway Records ( $250,000.00 value)

First Place Winners Receive: $500 in cash plus Gold Membership to the Freeway Millionaires Club ($750 value)

Top 5 category winners receive Outstanding Achievement in Songwriting Awards.

Lyric Writing category winner receives $250 in cash, a full song demo production from Freeway Records. Includes music composition, choice of genre, selected instruments, vocals & harmonies — a $2,500 value, a Silver membership to the Freeway Millionaires Club.

How Songs Are Judged:
Judges base their evaluations on the universal hallmarks of songwriting excellence: Engaging lyrics, creative use of language, effectively memorable melodies, and overall songwriting technique.

Lyric Only entries are judged using the same lyrical criteria — plus Judges evaluate lyrics on how successfully they can be adapted to music.

Note: Judges focus on the quality of the song - NOT the performance or quality of the recording.

Three Rounds of Judging:
Level One — All entries in all categories are judged by helpful and knowledgeable music-industry professionals, each selected for his or her expertise in specific style categories (Pop, Country, R&B, Hip-Hop, etc...)

Level Two — Judges advance 100 songs (top 10 songs in each songwriting category) to Level Two. Five songs are selected from each category to receive Outstanding Achievement In Songwriting awards. The top song in each category wins a First Place Award and advances to compete for the Grand Prize.

Level Three — Grand Prize Winner of the Freeway Records "TAP IN" Music Competition is selected from the First Place category winners!
